Meeting Housing Needs

by the Land Use Law Center

Social and economic factors have caused a housing crisis in many parts of the country. While the need to accommodate young families, seniors, and the workforce has been mounting, local governments have been adopting a large number of strategies to meet their local housing needs.   In addition, the role of planning and conducting housing needs studies is explored.  Topics covered include: inclusionary zoning, incentive zoning, floating zones, overlay zoning, and the role of the comprehensive plan.
